National Security Technologies Selects Avaya Collaboration Solutions

Avaya LogoToday Avaya Government Solutions, a wholly owned subsidiary of Avaya, announced that National Security Technologies (NSTec) has selected a new Avaya unified communication and video solution to modernize the infrastructure used by its clients and significantly reduce operating costs.

NSTec manages operations at the Nevada National Security Site for the U.S. Department of Energy. The legacy voice and video infrastructure NSTec oversees had become expensive to repair and maintain.

NSTec decided to invest in an Avaya platform to enhance collaboration and deliver the reliability needed to support its mission. An extensive business case developed by Avaya Government Solutions estimates that NSTec can realize more than $2 million a year in recurring savings on operating costs with the new system, which will serve approximately 4,500 personnel.

NSTec and its clients will improve productivity by using Avaya Scopia video conferencing to support team meetings – eliminating the time and expense of travel from remote sites. Avaya Scopia also will significantly increase the capacity to deliver video-based training.

“Avaya Government Solutions has helped us respond to a number of important organizational imperatives. We will now be able to offer new state-of-the-art collaboration capabilities to thousands of government employees and contractors, while simplifying administration and maintenance of our communication infrastructure. We are looking forward to a long partnership with Avaya Government Solutions in transforming our capabilities and culture.” – Robert Hillier, CIO, National Security Technologies

“Today government organizations are challenged as never before to reduce costs and to work more efficiently and effectively in the service of their mission. The unified communications and collaboration solution Avaya is delivering to National Security Technologies meets those objectives and more. The organization will be able to improve communication reliability and drive down operating costs for an immediate return on investment. But it also will experience significant productivity gains by using unified communications and video conferencing to collaborate more freely and effectively.” – Mike Paige, President and CEO, Avaya Government Solutions
