WhiteSpider, a leading specialist in enterprise architectures for IT, has been awarded a Global Business Excellence Award for Outstanding New Service. The award recognises the company’s ea4 framework for IT Enterprise Architecture as one of 2013’s most outstanding new services and WhiteSpider won the accolade from a global field of entries.
ea4 is WhiteSpider’s comprehensive framework for enterprise services, combining four stages of service: Enterprise Auditing, Architecture, Alignment and Assessment, to provide a systematic approach to the standardisation of IT within global enterprises.
Commenting on WhiteSpider, the winner in the Outstanding New Service, the chairman of the Global Business Excellence judges said: “Getting efficiencies out of disparate technologies across different countries must be one of the biggest problems global companies have to deal with. WhiteSpider’s innovative and advanced ea4 framework has made a huge difference in this area in helping global companies make more effective use of their technology and reduce costs, enabling them to concentrate on delivering their products to customers. It is a service that is very much in demand and, in its first year of operation in 2013, WhiteSpider saw turnover soar to £1 million and it is set to double this year. A great start for a new business that is set to continue.”
Developed to reduce the complexity of providing and managing IT services and applications, ea4 uses reference models and standards to enable the consolidation of disparate IT systems and global networks. It allows CIOs to align their IT systems to the needs of the business, reduce costs and create a governance model that ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and legislation.
The Global Business Excellence Awards aim to recognise and reward business excellence across a range of sectors and are open to organisations and individuals, based anywhere in the world. The awards encourage and recognize organisations that can demonstrate that they are working smarter than their competitors to create a business edge. WhiteSpider has been nominated in the category Outstanding New Service.
“The recognition that such an award brings, especially when matched against a global field, is particularly exciting,” said Phil Lees, CTO and co-founder of WhiteSpider. “The ea4 Framework is bringing real benefits to our customers in helping them, with our support, to approach the transformation of their network infrastructure and IT estate in a structured and cost-effective manner.”
“The key purpose of IT within an enterprise is to enable the business strategy and help the organisation deliver on its business outcomes. However, most organisations tend to grow in a piecemeal fashion based on immediate tactical needs. At the same time the technology landscape over the last five years has changed dramatically – especially in the way individuals use technology, led by consumers using smartphones, tablets, and cloud computing technology. ea4 is designed to address these issues in a structured way and to help CIOs to transform their IT service architecture to meet the changing needs of their businesses.”
Established in 2012, WhiteSpider specialises in providing consultancy, strategic advice, and practical support in enterprise service architectures. The company helps organisations to standardise their IT and communications infrastructures using its unique new ea4 service framework. The WhiteSpider team has extensive experience gained around the world in developing and managing enterprise architectures, reducing IT costs and improving efficiencies to meet the needs of the organisation. The ea4 service approach is now helping a diverse range of customers in industries such as Engineering, Finance and Motorsport.
WhiteSpider has enjoyed phenomenal growth to over £1 million revenue within twelve months of its inception at the end of 2012. The company’s pipeline for 2014 is equally healthy, with a target to double the current figure by the end of the year.
