8×8 Solutions achieves accreditation under new UK Cyber Essentials scheme and secures Unified Communications place on Network Services Framework

PRESS RELEASE: 8×8 Solutions, a leading provider of cloud based unified communications and collaboration (UCC) services announces that the company has secured Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation and has been accepted onto the Network Services framework agreement for Unified Communications. The recent accreditation helps 8×8 Solutions further strengthen its public sector offering and marks another impressive milestone for the company’s longstanding security compliance initiative.

8×8 Solutions received accreditation under the UK Government’s Cyber Essentials scheme following an external audit process.  The accreditation demonstrates the commitment and robustness of 8×8’s IT infrastructure and validates its willingness and ongoing dedication to data integrity and security. 8×8’s network has comprehensive measures in place to deter cyber crime and has been proven secure for clients both in the private and public sector.

The company has not only met, but has exceeded all standards put in place by the Government to make the procurement process simpler for public sector organisations. The external auditor also praised 8×8 for meeting international governmental standards, meaning companies can also be assured of global security.

8×8 Solutions has also been accepted onto the Network Services framework agreement for Unified Communications. This reinforces the company as a leading supplier of services to the public sector, having already worked with a large number of governmental organisations under G-Cloud.

As part of the Network Services agreement, 8×8 Solutions will continue to offer public sector bodies a variety of services. These range from a broad suite of market leading UCC services to in-office and mobile devices spanning cloud business VoIP phone service, virtual meeting web conferencing, contact centre software and virtual desktop.

Network Services is a Crown Commercial Service (CCS) agreement designed to support the Government’s policy to centrally manage the procurement of common goods and services.  It is available for use by organisations across the UK Public Sector including central government, local government, health, education, emergency services and not-for-profit organisations.

The agreement is fully EU compliant and provides organisations within the public sector easy access to unified communications services, such as 8×8 Solutions, saving them time and money.

Kevin Scott-Cowell, CEO of 8×8 Solutions, says: “We are proud to have worked with a number of governmental bodies over the last few years and are looking forward to supporting even more organisations with innovative communications solutions. We also believe that our Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation will give our existing and future clients in both the private and public sectors peace of mind that our cyber protection meets and exceeds Government standards.”
