ALE Holding acquires majority stake in Sipwise

Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise announces the acquisition of a majority stake in Sipwise GmbH, a privately held company based in Brunn am Gebirge, Austria. Sipwise provides core cloud communication solutions and infrastructure for telecom operators enabling them to deploy modern Unified Communication services based on open standards and an extensive API library.

Sipwise currently has more than 60 customers in 20 countries, serving 4 million connected users.

The acquisition of Sipwise not only reinforces the Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise commitment to the Unified Communications & Collaboration as a Service (UCaaS) market, but also adds this technological stack to Rainbow making the connectivity between all technologies of IP, TDM, PSTN and SIP/WebRTC native to address customer’s transition to Cloud Services over the coming years. All of this accessible from Rainbow UCaaS and CPaaS platforms.

The combined offer will bring enhanced cloud communication & collaboration functionality and services to Channel Partners and End-customers across every market segment and will create a key player in Cloud Communication business and WebRTC services.

Sipwise will keep its brand name and will benefit from ALE’s Worldwide presence and distribution to support its go-to-market development in the carrier business.
