PRESS RELEASE: Telephone answering service alldayPA is investing £2 million in the launch of a new pay-as-you-go brand for entrepreneurs, freelancers and start-ups. myalldayPA, which offers a flexible receptionist service 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, comes in response to strong demand from so-called ‘micro-businesses’ and has been designed to assist such nascent enterprises, which the company believes are on the rise.
Reuben Singh, CEO at alldayPA, said: “As a result of the IR35 legislation being implemented at the turn of the century, there was a huge dip in the number of people setting up side-projects, which was a thriving business culture at the time. However, I truly believe we’re now witnessing a new wave of ‘coffee shop entrepreneurs’ and an increased desire among professionals to be their own boss.
“I’m extremely passionate about helping people turn their ideas into reality and I’m confident that myalldayPA can help them to do so.”
The pay-as-you-go nature of the service means it can be used all the time or just for out-of-hours calls, emergencies and holiday cover, and the way the virtual receptionist answers the phone can be customised accordingly.
Reuben added: “People focusing on growing their businesses can’t be tied to their desk all day in case the phone rings. Any entrepreneur will know you’ve got to get out and about to get your business off the ground. What’s more, many of them are still holding down a day job. And if you’re in a meeting, on a flight or just out networking, it’s not always appropriate or possible to be on the phone.
“There seems to be a growing culture of professionals going it alone and having a PA to handle calls frees them up to get on with their to-do lists, while never missing an important enquiry.”
While alldayPA handles calls for over 24,000 small to medium-sized businesses, including law firms, accountants and e-commerce companies, myalldayPA is aimed at smaller outfits and one-man-bands that are just starting out.
Reuben explained: “Start-ups are popping up all over the place. In the last year, the number of sole traders has increased by 84,000 – a lot in the digital, creative and tech sectors, but elsewhere too. We saw an opportunity to tweak our existing offering, which has a higher minimum payment and is therefore more suitable for more established organisations, and provide a more flexible service for businesses in their infancy.
“The ultimate aim of myalldayPA is to nurture young companies and help them to thrive by taking advantage of every enquiry while getting on with the vital day-to-day work, so they can see their business flourish.”
