8×8 announced the appointment of Dejan Deklich as Senior Vice President of Global Research and Development (R&D). Dejan brings extensive experience leading large, global engineering teams that have successfully developed enterprise business applications, Software-as-a-Service solutions and more. As head of global R&D, Dejan will drive product innovation and excellence for 8×8’s global cloud communications portfolio, positioning the company for continued growth and success.

Dejan most recently served as vice president of Platform and Cloud at Splunk, where he was in charge of engineering for Splunk® Enterprise, the company’s core product, in addition to the growth of Splunk’s next-generation cloud effort. Prior to Splunk, Dejan was the chief technology officer at Merced Systems, which was acquired by NICE Systems in 2011. As CTO of Workforce Management, Dejan was responsible for technology and product vision, strategy and roadmap, as well as the development of NICE’s cloud strategy and the company’s evolution to a cloud-based system.
