Mitel® announced that it is providing a unified communications solution for the Beijing Rail Transit Control Center in partnership with Beijing Waneasy Technology Co. Ltd. As part of a complete communications renovation, the TCC selected Mitel for its reliability, scalability and flexible convergence capabilities.
With plans to grow to 650 miles of track by 2020, the Beijingsubway is rapidly expanding. Six new, fully-automated lines are currently under construction using domestically-developed communications-based train control systems. The lines total 186 miles in length potentially making Beijing’s subway the longest fully-automated subway network in the world. To support operations, the TCC deployed a Mitel communications system that helps employees communicate and collaborate more efficiently and better serve 12 million daily passengers.
“Enabling employees to communicate and connect with colleagues instantly, anywhere across the rail network, is essential for Beijing to provide quality customer service,” said Guoxu Zhang, Technical Solution Director, System Service Depart. of Beijing Rail TCC. “The safety of our passengers and ensuring our rail service runs as smoothly as possible are top priorities. With Mitel, we have a partner who understands what we need and can deliver on those requirements.”
“Organizations like Beijing Rail TCC depend on reliable, flexible communications solutions to support the demands of current operations and allow them to easily scale for future growth,” said Pierre-Jean Châlon, SVP APAC, Mitel. “The solution provided by Mitel and Beijing Waneasy Technology seamlessly unifies communications across Beijing Rail TCC’s complex network and positions the world’s busiest subway for continued expansion.”
