Convergys expands in Romania with new Multilingual Hub

Convergys, a global leader in customer management services, continues its expansion in EMEA by opening a new site in Timisoara, Romania, to establish its next multilingual contact centre operations.

This new state-of-the-art contact centre has the capacity to support more than 500 jobs within the impressive Openville district – the largest multipurpose development in western Romania, bringing together office, retail, park and entertainment facilities as part of an urban regeneration project.

Convergys currently employees around 150 people at its contact centre in Timisoara city centre, which opened in 2011, to deliver German language services. This investment complements the company’s nearshore footprint in Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland and Romania for central eastern European languages.

The new facility is expected to be operational by early summer, at which time existing employees will transfer across from the legacy operations.

Rémy Béal, President, Operations EMEA, said: “This investment not only demonstrates our ambition to grow in Romania, but also our commitment to the City of Timisoara. We are delighted to be taking up space in the impressive Openville development, which has the potential to add value to the work-life balance of our people.

We’ve been impressed by the wealth of talent available, as well as the ability to attract people who speak a range of languages from this multicultural city.”

In addition to creating new career opportunities for existing employees, Convergys is now actively recruiting for a number of roles across its operational and support functions, including customer advisors, HR, IT, quality, training and management positions.
