Job seekers in the region are being given the opportunity to earn extra money in the lead-up to Christmas as Newcastle-based Echo-U prepares for one of its busiest periods. The Tyneside contact centre is looking to fill 155 temporary customer service representative roles working across its largest client, DPD, to handle an increase in demand as more parcels are sent.
During the build up to Christmas, Echo-U expects to deal with 125,000 enquiries on behalf of DPD in its peak week, creating almost 100 percent uplift from pre-peak numbers. The seasonal recruits will be responsible for managing customer enquiries over the phone, email, social media and web chats.
The flexible roles are ideal for students or parents looking to boost their income in the run up to Christmas or for anyone wanting to return to work as comprehensive training is provided by Echo-U’s customer service experts in a professional environment.
Diana Bourke, managing director at Echo-U, said: “The festive period is certainly an exciting, but busy time at Echo-U. As we gear up for a surge in demand we are looking for individuals with an enthusiastic approach to customer service as well as good computer skills.
“With the opportunity to work across an inbound campaign for an award-winning courier, our seasonal roles are ideal for anyone looking for flexible hours or to make some extra money as they prepare for Christmas. We also provide a full training programme to ensure people are on track to provide outstanding customer service so experience isn’t essential. Our city centre base also means our recruits have access to great transport links in the heart of our bustling city centre and quayside.”
Echo-U’s seasonal positions will run from Tuesday October 23, 2017 through to the start of January 2018. Anyone interested in applying for a temporary customer service representative role at Echo-U should send their CV to firstname.lastname@example.org by Wednesday October 18, 2017.
