ALE, operating under the Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise brand, announced that the luxury Adare Manor in Limerick, Republic of Ireland, has selected a state-of-the-art telephony and BYOD Mobile Guest Softphone solution for its guests and staff. The transformation is part of a large-scale refurbishment in preparation for its bid to host the 2026 Ryder Cup.
The Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise technology will provide guests with resort-wide voice connectivity via in-room touchscreen phones and on their own personal mobile devices using a mobile-app. Additionally, the resort’s 100+ staff can use the new mobile functionality to streamline hotel service delivery. When checking in, guests simply scan a QR code to instantly connect the app on their mobile, allowing them to communicate anywhere on the hotel grounds – removing the need to use mobile data or incur international roaming charges.
The app allows guests to quickly book a tee-off time, make a spa or restaurant reservation or call the concierge. The touchscreen Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise 8088 Smart DeskPhone with Bluetooth connectivity is deployed in all of the resort’s manor rooms and townhouses. Whether using the DeskPhone or mobile app, guests can view a history of their internal and external conversations, which are automatically wiped from all devices on check out.
The comprehensive solution is integrated into front of house activites, allowing resort teams to collaborate and react to ensure they can provide all required services. From the mobile app, staff can quickly and easily report when rooms are ready, log and sign-off maintenance tasks and respond to customer service requests. The reservations department is also taking advantage of Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise call centre technology to ensure the hotel can provision resources to match customer needs throughout the hospitality year. The trusted 20-year ALE partner Welltel managed the installation of the technology and connected the hotel to their managed VoIP network for all external communications.
J.P Crilly, Sales Director at Welltel “At such a prestigious venue, guests demand technology which is simple to use and which offers a consistent experience wherever they are at the resort. Adare Manor was looking for five-star cosmetics and functionality from its guest-facing communications to match the high quality of its facilities. The 8088 handsets and Mobile Guest Softphone provides both – a comprehensive and easy to manage solution to meet the demands of today’s guests.”
Eamon Connaughton, Sales, Europe North at ALE “Easy access to hotel services is a vital feature of improving the hotel experience for guests and employees, and touchscreen technologies and mobility are the key attributes. ALE’s strategy is to make hotel services easier to access while in or out of the hotel room. Hotels really need to have the right communications infrastructure in place to provide these services, and this is exactly what ALE has delivered with the BYOD guest softphone solution. With the resort set to receive an influx of international golfers and guests, Adare Manor has a unique solution to provide guests and employees with the best possible experience.”
