Convergys Corporation, a global leader in Customer Management Outsourcing, has been selected to serve as a founding member of the Emerging Europe Alliance for Business Services, Innovation and Technology.
Announced at the Sourcing in Emerging Europe conference, in London on the 28th March, the alliance represents more than a dozen organisations supporting the social and economic development of Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), to champion positive change and help shape future growth in the region.
In CEE, Convergys currently employees over 1,200 people across 6 locations in Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland and Romania, and this news follows the company’s recent announcement about expansions plan in Romania.
Becoming a member of this alliance further demonstrates Convergys’ confidence in the long-term sustainability of the CEE region – a region that brings together a rich talent pool of highly educated, multilingual resources, combined with an innovative and service orientated culture.
“The CEE region is turning heads throughout the global BPO industry and continues to attract some of the world’s most dynamic and innovative brands, and we are proud to be serving as a founding partner of the Emerging Europe Alliance”, said Paula Kennedy Garcia, Vice President, Market Lead EMEA CEU, at Convergys.
“It’s an exciting time to be in the outsourcing space, with lots of change, transformation and moves to digital channels, with agent roles becoming more complex. As the CEE region strengthens its foothold in the European Digital City Index, by capitalising on its deep rooted STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education with IT innovation, and continued investment in start-ups and infrastructure, we have the opportunity to develop and support the next generation of customer management, and at a European scale”, she said.
Tom Quigley, CEO of the Emerging Europe Alliance said, “Convergys’ investment across the region is very evident, and it’s clear that they recognise its high potential just as much as we do. We’re delighted, therefore, that Convergys has joined the Alliance as a founding Member and I’ve no doubt their deep domain experience will be of considerable value to ourselves, and to the whole CEE region in general.”
