Polycom, a part of Plantronics announced the availability of its updated line of VVX Series Business IP Phones. The VVX x50 portfolio offers service provider partners a breakthrough in the balance between affordability and features. Model by model, the next-generation desktop phones marry Polycom’s legendary audio performance and proven quality with a more robust feature set than comparable models from other providers.
Leading ITSP 8×8 has certified the VVX x50 line and are offering to customers starting today.
“As a global communications leader, 8×8 provides companies of all sizes with solutions that allow their employees to communicate and collaborate effectively. The exceptional customer experience that results from transforming communication norms is driving strong adoption for our integrated cloud solution for voice, meetings, collaboration and contact center,” said Samuel Wilson, SVP of Small Business & eCommerce. “We are excited to be one of the first to have Polycom’s VVX x50 Series available now. Polycom’s legendary audio quality combined with 8×8’s superior voice quality gives companies’ employees and customers an unparalleled communications experience.”
In addition to the sleek new VVX phone series, Polycom Device Management Service for Service Providers (PDMS-SP) is now available. This cloud service streamlines and simplifies provisioning, management and troubleshooting for service providers by integrating extensive capabilities into their own processes and dashboards.
“Based on great feedback from our service provider partners and end customers, Polycom developed the new VVX x50 Series with quality, value, and management in mind,” said Tarun Loomba, executive vice president, Product and Solutions Management at Plantronics. “The new, sleek design delivers a great customer experience with premier audio quality at the right price for partners and customers. By using the same unified communications (UC) software as in previous VVX phones, Service Providers, like 8×8, have a simpler and shorter certification process to get to market, and we are seeing this already.”
The new Polycom VVX models include the VVX 150, VVX 250, VVX 350, and VVX 450 Business IP Phones. These four models feature Polycom’s legendary audio quality, color LCD, modern design, easy deployment options, and USB and Gig-E ports. The VVX x50 Series audio quality comes from Polycom® HD Voice™ and Polycom® Acoustic Fence™ that enable business conversations to remain free from extraneous noises, echoes and distractions.
The phones meet the budget and communication needs of any business while being simple to administer and upgrade throughout their entire lifecycle. All four phones support the industry’s broadest set of Open SIP software features and integrate with over 60 call control platforms worldwide. The portfolio of phones is available now for service providers to begin testing and qualifying.
Along with new VVX x50 Series, Polycom begins certifying service providers for the new cloud service, PDMS-SP. This cloud service enables service providers to include Polycom audio device management and analytics into their customer portal experience. Service providers can simplify the audio device lifecycle management process by using Polycom’s cloud service to manage, monitor, and measure the growing complexity of audio devices in organizations. PDMS-SP gives partners the data and information to anticipate and prevent problems from occurring while reducing costs and increasing customer satisfaction.
Polycom will release an API allowing service providers to customize what services and analytics they need from Polycom audio devices used by each customer into their portals. This information is integrated seamlessly into their own workflows and dashboards allowing service providers to monitor, anticipate, and solve customer problems faster while lowering costs.
Loomba added, “the addition of PDMS-SP to our portfolio is designed to help our service provider partners better manage complexity, increase profitability, and enhance customer satisfaction.”
