LogMeIn Names Mark Strassman as SVP and GM of its Communications & Collaboration Business

LogMeIn has named Mark Strassman as senior vice president (SVP) and general manager (GM) of its Communications & Collaboration business unit.

A proven industry veteran, Strassman joins LogMeIn from BlueJeans Networks, where he served as the video collaboration leader’s Chief Product Officer (CPO) since 2016, overseeing the company’s product, design, and integrated portfolio strategy to build video-first solutions.

Prior to BlueJeans, Mark served as Senior Vice President of Products at Blackboard, Inc., a leading provider of video and collaboration technologies to the education industry, where he drove the company’s transformation from enterprise to SaaS business models, and from an inside-out to a customer-driven, industry-focused strategy.

Strassman also held various executive management positions at Autodesk, Inc., where he was responsible for managing Autodesk’s core products, AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT, invigorating the product line with groundbreaking design and functionality that resulted in a doubling of the business.

He joins LogMeIn as the company drives the expansion of its renowned GoTo collaboration business into the $25.5 billion (USD) cloud-based unified communications and collaboration (UCC) market.

“Mark has a deep familiarity with the collaboration market, and a well-earned reputation for helping established leaders disrupt their own markets through customer-focused innovation,” said Bill Wagner, President and CEO of LogMeIn. “With unparalleled market awareness, millions of customers, billions of voice minutes, and some of the world’s best cloud collaboration and communication products, we’ve always believed we had the right ingredients to win in UCC. Mark gives us the driven and proven leader to define and execute a customer-first vision to realize that potential.”

With renowned products like GoToMeeting, GoToWebinar, Grasshopper, join.me, and more — products that support over 25 million users, with over 900 million conferencing minutes a month contributing to over 7 million meetings per month, and 12 billion voice minutes per year — LogMeIn is one of the largest and most recognized players in the communication and collaboration markets.

In April of this year, LogMeIn acquired Jive Communications, a leading provider of cloud-based phone systems and one of the fastest growing players in the Unified Communications-as-a-Service (UCaaS) space, in a deal designed to accelerate LogMeIn’s UCC strategy and bring together the best in video, voice, meetings and messaging.

“The convergence of video, voice and messaging are fundamentally transforming both the Collaboration market and the Unified Communications market – a shift already impacting customers, vendors and the channel,” said Mark Strassman, SVP and GM of LogMeIn’s Communications & Collaboration business. “LogMeIn is an established leader in collaboration with world renowned brands, a best-in-class portfolio of audio, video, telephony, web conferencing, and webinar solutions, and a user base in the millions. Couple that with its proven early track record in AI, and you have a company poised to redefine and lead one of tech’s largest, fastest growing markets while reimagining how the modern workforce communicates and collaborates.”
