Wavenet announces the acquisition of OGL Computer Support Holdings Limited and its two subsidiaries OGL Computer Support Limited and CyberGuard Technologies Limited, an eminent Midlands based IT Solutions and Cyber Security Services provider.
The acquisition of OGL helps position Wavenet as one of the UK’s most acclaimed telecoms and technology companies with a portfolio of solutions and services, ranging from 24/7, 365 protection against cyber threats, by means of a UK Security Operations Centre (SOC), to Cloud Services, including enterprise cloud-based virtualised infrastructures.
“It is an extremely exciting time for Wavenet, with this acquisition, OGL IT and CyberGuard Technologies bring a wealth of knowledge and experience, enabling the Wavenet Group to strengthen its offerings, and enhance the service provided to our customers.
They have a talented team who share the same values, and their ambitions match ours of being a customer focused organisation, putting customer needs at the heart of everything we do. I look forward to our continued growth and success as we integrate OGL IT & CyberGuard into the Wavenet Group” said Bill Dawson, CEO of Wavenet.
Philip Grannum, Chief Commercial Officer at Wavenet said, “the integration of the products and services will significantly enhance our opportunities to serve our customers. An increasing amount of organisations are outsourcing their IT requirements from infrastructure management to security and monitoring, simply because it is more cost and resource efficient than keeping it in-house. This acquisition is in line with our business growth strategy that also includes organic growth, partnerships, and product expansion.”
Paul Colwell, Chief Technology Officer, at OGL said, “The acquisition of OGL’s managed IT services and cyber security divisions represents an exciting opportunity for us to extend our reach into new markets and deliver our extensive portfolio of leading solutions across Wavenet’s existing customer base. It also helps us forge future growth as we bring together our vast experience and skills. Wavenet demonstrated a real synergy with OGL, as a business, which will enable us to continue to deliver a first-class service and even greater value to our customers. I am enthusiastic about the future and all that this acquisition will offer to our customers and our staff.”
Wavenet’s legal advice was provided by the Squire Patton Boggs Leeds office (led by Partner David Milne). Orbis Partners acted as financial advisors to OGL Computer Support Holdings and legal advice was provided by DWF.
