Oak Launches New GDPR Advanced Feature Pack For RecordX

Oak Innovation is pleased to announce a new feature pack for the RecordX call recorder to simplify management of General Protection Data Regulation (GDPR) that comes into force on 25 May 2018.

GDPR brings together data privacy laws across Europe to protect and empower all EU citizens, and supersedes the current Data Protection Act of 1998. GDPR applies to any business that stores and processes data in any format that can be used to identify someone, including call recordings. Should a customer request it, businesses must now be able to amend or remove part or all of the information they have concerning that customer, as long as that does not impede the service provided or contravene the law.

RecordX delivers inbuilt data security and compliance options as standard, including Active Directory integration, user-associated recording rules, encryption and infinite storage space. The new GDPR Advanced Feature Pack goes a stage further by simplifying the execution of GDPR activities and providing GDPR specific reporting to protect business interests.

Oak Director of Voice Processing, Richard Garel-Jones says the Advanced Feature Pack aims to support current RecordX customers in becoming GDPR compliant, as well as appealing to businesses considering call recording for the first time:

“Under GDPR, a subject has ‘the right to be forgotten’. Now RecordX users can search and delete specific recordings on request; they can define who can access, alter and erase those files; and they can even run reports on what is being actioned and who by, for complete transparency.”

The GDPR Advanced Feature Pack is available now.
