David Cameron to join Afiniti as Chair of Advisory Board

Afiniti, the world’s leading provider of AI-based behavioral pairing technology announces that David Cameron, former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, has been appointed Chair of its Advisory Board. Mr Cameron joins a senior group of former and current business and political leaders on the Advisory Board, who provide Afiniti with global counsel on critical issues to the company as it continues to expand in markets around the world.

Mr Cameron served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 2010 to 2016 and as Leader of the Conservative Party from 2005 to 2016. During his time as Prime Minister, Mr Cameron laid the foundations for a transformative UK digital strategy, putting in place measures to ensure the UK led the way in the new and emerging tech industries. Since stepping back from frontline politics, Mr Cameron has assumed leading roles at several not-for-profit organizations which reflect his personal interests and prior work in government. He is currently President of Alzheimer’s Research UK, Chair of the National Citizen Service’s Board of Patrons, and he chaired the LSE-Oxford Commission on State Fragility, Growth and Development.

As Chair of the Advisory Board, Mr Cameron will be responsible for curating and overseeing the strategic guidance provided by the Advisory Board to Afiniti’s management team and Board of Directors. As the opportunities and challenges associated with artificial intelligence become increasingly clear, Mr Cameron’s experience of political leadership through periods of complexity, both domestically and on the international stage, will be invaluable as Afiniti focuses on driving growth by delivering tangible benefits to clients. Mr Cameron’s personal interest in the potential for artificial intelligence to improve healthcare outcomes, create new growth and jobs, and contribute to wider social and economic prosperity will be particular focus areas for him.

Zia Chishti, Chairman and CEO of Afiniti, said: “We are delighted to welcome David to Afiniti. Our Advisory Board has a diverse array of senior business and political leaders who provide invaluable guidance to the company as we expand around the world. At Afiniti, we’re proud to be delivering real benefits through our AI technology today, helping to drive significant value to clients across industries. Afiniti is about raising the productivity of companies. David’s deep personal commitment to this issue makes him perfectly-placed to lead our Advisory Board and support Afiniti in our next stage of growth.”

David Cameron, Chair of the Advisory Board of Afiniti, commented: “The Government I led took a wide range of steps to ensure the UK was successful in the new tech industries: developing Tech City; supporting a FinTech ecosystem; ensuring that the UK was the best place for tech entrepreneurs to start and scale a business; sequencing genomes; and creating the Government Digital Service, which has become a world leader digitizing public services. As part of this work, I was excited to see the rapid development in Artificial Intelligence and the huge potential AI has to address some of the challenges that societies face today. I have been exploring developments in AI for some time to better understand how industry and policy-makers can collaborate in solving these challenges and ensuring that AI serves people’s everyday lives. I am therefore delighted to have been asked to chair Afiniti’s Advisory Board, helping support their work to transform the future of customer service and interpersonal communications.”
