Independent Age reappoints customer service outsourcer to provide remote support for older people

UK-based charity Independent Age, which provides information, advice, and support for older people facing financial hardship, has renewed its contract with leading customer service outsourcer Kura, to continue delivering remote care and support.

Building on the partnership that began in 2017, Kura will operate from its headquarters in Glasgow where it already manages thousands of calls per year for the charity. Advisors will conduct regular welfare checks with people in later life and will help ensure that people find the right support, at the right time and in the right place.

Simon Hewett-Avison, director of services at Independent Age, said: “Kura’s advisors provide crucial support for those who are facing financial hardship in later life. The advisors provide meaningful, important support to older people and are an important extension of the Independent Age team.

“Our relationship with Kura has been incredibly collaborative, and we look forward to achieving new and exciting things in this next chapter!”

Independent Age provides free information and advice for older people and families on care and support, money and benefits, and health and mobility. The charity also uses the knowledge and insight gained from frontline services to challenge poor care and campaign for a fair deal for older people – a reasonable standard of living, fair access to information, and an opportunity to contribute to communities.

Brian Bannatyne, CEO at Kura, said: “We’re delighted to have been reappointed by Independent Age and thank them for the trust they have placed in us. This is testament to our talented team and commitment to the charity sector. We look forward to many years ahead helping older people and working towards our vision of being unrivalled in developing people”
